History

The WCB was launched in May of 2016 by Mike Lipe and Ross Grant. The group appreciates great relationships with Wylie ISD and with the City of Wylie. In 2017 the WCB was proclaimed “The Official Community Band of Wylie, TX” by Mayor Eric Hogue.

The WCB also includes a Jazz Big Band and a small Jazz Combo. Both of these ensembles, along with the concert band, perform at various senior centers and civic events throughout the area.

In 2017 the WCB began an annual collaboration with Wylie ISD Fine Arts – “Wylie in the Meyerson Day.”
